There’s something special about seeing multiple generations gathered in one place. These days, it doesn’t happen nearly as often as we’d like—busy schedules, long distances, and life’s everyday bustle tend to get in the way. That’s why extended family portraits are such a meaningful gift, not only for the people in the images, but especially for the grandparents who treasure them most.
Let’s be honest… most grandparents don’t need another sweater, kitchen gadget, or knickknack. What they truly cherish are the faces they love—printed, framed, and hanging where they can see them every single day. A wall portrait becomes a reminder of legacy, connection, and the blessing of family. And albums? They’re like time capsules—beautiful little storybooks that let everyone look back and marvel at how the family has grown and changed through the years.
While I adore photographing families outdoors when the seasons cooperate, the truth is that many families are only all together during the holidays. That makes this time of year the perfect opportunity to gather everyone for a portrait that will be treasured for decades to come.
If your family is planning to be in town this holiday season, I’d love to help you capture those moments. My studio can comfortably accommodate up to around 30 people, making it ideal for big families who want to stay warm, relaxed, and looking their best without braving the winter weather.
Here is a family I was able to capture a few years ago—four grown children, their spouses, and twelve grandchildren—all home at the same time. Moments like that are rare, and they deserve to be documented beautifully.
This year, give the gift that every grandparent truly wants: a photograph of the people they love most. It’s the kind of present that never gets tucked away, never loses its meaning, and only becomes more precious with time.
If you’re ready to schedule or just want to talk through the details, I’m here and happy to help. Let’s create something your family will treasure for years to come.
